Micro Kid's! Multimédia (Originally known as "Micro Kid's" until Mid-1995) was a magazine style programme which was broadcasted on France's "France 3" between 1991 and 1997. First airing at 5.15 PM, and later 6 PM on a Wednesday, it eventually moved in the 1992/3 season to a 10:05 AM timeslot on a Sunday, before finally being moved in 1997 to Saturdays at 9:30 am. The show was originally presented by Jean-Michel Blottière (Of French gaming magazines "Tilt" and "Consoles +" fame) from it's inception, with the help of Delphine from 1992 onwards up until they were both replaced in mid-1995 with a CG avatar character known as "Doctor Clic", who remained as the host of the show until it's end. With each installment generally running at less than 15 minutes a pop, the show focused on multimedia in general such as new technologies, demo contests, software and sound trackers to name just a few, but the main focus was video games. Around 140 episodes of the show in total were produced, and from 1994 was the counterpart to the French magazine "Micro Kid's Multimédia". Anyway, as I'm sure you guessed by the title, at least one episode featured Clockwork Knight content. During it's 1st October 1995 broadcast (Episode 39), what seems to be a very mini look at the game happens before the 999 lives cheat code shown to help players out who might have been having trouble otherwise. Pretty funky stuff! I'll be taking a look at earlier/later episodes at some point to see if Clockwork Knight was featured at all. Anyway, as I'm sure you guessed by the title, at least one episode featured Clockwork Knight content. During it's March 6, 1996 broadcast (Episode 32), short previews of a selection of games were shown, with both Clockwork Knight and Clockwork Knight 2 being featured. Interactive media artist Toshio Iwai designed the game in the early 1990s using concepts from the installation art piece Music Insects, which he created during his time as an Artist in Residence at the San Francisco Exploratorium.[1] However, the finished product was never brought to market by Nintendo for unknown reasons. Its eccentric concepts and untested game mechanics may have been the main factor in its cancellation; music games, especially on home consoles, were not popular in the early 1990s, and it wouldn't be until much later in the decade that they gained mainstream attention. Sound Fantasy was to come packed-in with the SNES Mouse and mouse pad, and it would arrive in a larger game box to hold its contents similar to Super Nintendo games like Mario Paint and EarthBound. It is speculated that Nintendo chose to use Mario Paint to launch its mouse peripheral in 1992 instead, as that game was endorsed by Mario, one of gaming's most recognizable mascots. Toshio Iwai eventually went on to convert his work into the PC game SimTunes in 1996, and many of Sound Fantasy's unreleased gameplay elements can be found there. In April 2005, to celebrate the Japanese launch of Toshio Iwai's latest work, Electroplankton for the Nintendo DS, Nintendo opened an exhibit at Tokyo's Harajuku Station to focus on the new game and on Iwai himself. Nintendo made available for perusal the box art and manual for Sound Fantasy, but the "lost game" was not made playable there. MEGA 6 was a magazine style programme which was broadcasted on France's "M6" every wednesday between 1994 and 1996, presented by Guillaume Stanczyk of "Morning Live" fame. With each installment generally running at less than 15 minutes a pop, the shows sole focus was on current and upcoming video games. Anyway, as I'm sure you guessed by the title, at least one episode featured Clockwork Knight content. During it's 11th January 1995 broadcast (Episode 09), a short segment previewing the game can be seen, just over a month after the game was released in Japan. Pretty funky stuff! I'll be taking a look at later episodes at some point to see if Clockwork Knight was featured again. Thank you to Oli for their upload of the footage, as otherwise I wouldn't have known it existed. With each installment generally running at less than 10 minutes a pop, the show focused on video games, multimedia, consoles, pc's and the evolution of the world wide web. Anyway, as I'm sure you guessed by the title, at least one episode featured Clockwork Knight content. During it's 1st April 1996 broadcast (Episode 50), what seems to be a very mini look at the game happens before the level select code shown to help players out who might have been having trouble otherwise. Pretty funky stuff! I'll be taking a look at earlier episodes at some point to see if Clockwork Knight was featured beforehand. While it appears the show would generally be hosted by a busty CGI model host known as "Cléo", this episode seems to be hosted by a grumpy fish (perhaps as an april fool based on it's broadcast date), and I have no idea of it's name.
