Normally you would want to install WordPress on a subdomain/subdirectory depending on which you prefer. Then install the KnowHow wiki theme and start adding the information. The negative for this is your wiki is on a subdomain and the theme may not match your site's design. Your next option is a wiki plugin. Install and activate the Knowledge Base plugin by pressapp. Now there will be a knowledge base area in your dashboard. Knowledge base uses custom post types and brands with your style and format for the most part. It also has a voting system and drag and drop functionality but it does cost $20. Finally you can use code to add a wiki to your site but you would want to backup your site should anything go wrong. Then install and activate the Knowledgebase CPT plugin to create a custom post type to add information to. Once we have some information filled out we'll need to add some code to the functions.php to list them together. Then you can create a page and add the shortcode to a page you want it displayed on. Tiki: Easy setup of wiki-based knowledge management system This talk demonstrates how to build up a simple but powerful knowledge management system starting from a freshly installed Tiki by Jean-Marc Libs At: FOSDEM 2019 🤍 I will demonstrate an easy and fast way of configuring Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware for the purpose of having a central repository for a knowledge base. I will also explain how to manage permissions for various use cases, how to separate different topics, how to access stored knowledge. This presentation will start with a minimal Tiki site and show how to build structures of pages and file repositories with a knowledge base in mind. This will rely on a concrete real-life working example of a site for collaboration between a freelancer/company and their various separate customers with different projects. I will show how to configure permissions for: * a publicly visible and editable knowledge base; * separate knowledge bases which are restricted to groups of users and invisible to others; * intermediate scenarios with groups of editors and groups of read-only viewers. I will show the basics of how to make the knowledge accessible, searchable, navigable and allow comments from people who can only view it. Here at AccessAlly, we use a Confluence Wiki for our company operations, systems, and processes. In this tutorial, you'll see how to set up and organize a confluence wiki using Atlassian's Confluence software for your company. This is a great example of how to organize your Confluence software to run your business more smoothly, especially if you run a business with remote team members. Every company has a different way of doing things, but we've organized ours into a few categories. Company operations: These are the activities we do on a weekly or daily basis such as ongoing goals, numbers, and meeting notes. Core Processes: Here we keep an overview of the things we do as a business such as hiring, project planning, business design, marketing, sales, partnerships, software development, customer retention, accounting, and legal. Under each category, you'll find specific documentation that falls into each of these sectors of the business. Tools & Resources: Here we document which tools we use and various how-to guides on how to use each one, as well as best practices. Every 6 months we spend a few hours as a team cleaning up our company wiki and update any outdated documentation, or archive anything that is no longer relevant. Start Here: We use this area of our company wiki to onboard new team members. It helps orient them with everything we do as a company and bring them up-to-speed more quickly. We also include a checklist of the first things they need to complete their first week. Campaigns & Products: This is where we document the projects and campaigns we run. All assets related to each campaign is housed within this area for easy access if we re-run the campaign in the future. We also document the results of each campaign so we can track which efforts have been the most successful for future consideration.
