The structure of the NHS is a MASSIVE topic that takes a lot of getting your head round 🤯 Importantly, it’s not one to be missed as medical school interviewers LOVE to check that candidates have at least a basic understanding of how the National Health Service operates 🧐 This video is going to demystify the structure of the NHS into an EASILY understood linear model... Watch on for my simple NHS roadmap! 🚗 ✨ Join my FREE 🤑 online workshop here: 🤍 Here's what you'll learn in this action packed guide 🔥: 00:00 Intro 00:29 Who's In Charge? First off, who’s in charge of the NHS? Who ultimately decides how much money the NHS receives and does top-level priority setting? You'll find out exactly who in this chapter... 01:18 Who's Paying? Now before we look at how money flows through the NHS we need to know where it comes from in the first place! Although healthcare is free at the point of delivery in England, that money has to come from somewhere... 02:13 What's NHS England? In this chapter I cover what NHS England does, what it commissions itself and who it passes its money on to! I also explain a recent change to the way GP services are commissioned. 03:32 Who Does The Commissioning? What on earth is a Clinical Commissioning Group? They’re who commission the vast majority of services for the NHS so it's important you know how they work! 05:16 Who Provides The Care? Service providers are who actually deliver the care to patients on the front line. In this chapter you'll learn who can provide that service and who regulates them. 06:35 What's Next? The NHS is an ever-changing beast, with constant reforms and reorganisations. In this chapter you'll learn about the most recent major reforms planned for the next ten years. 08:51 Conclusion 📚 If you prefer, you can also read the article that accompanies the video here: 🤍
