A feud between their gang, based around their home estate, and their rivals based around the Beechwood estate on the opposite side of the M53, eventually culminated in Chapman killing "wholly innocent" Elle Edwards in a botched hit outside the Lighthouse Pub in Wallasey Village on Christmas Eve. The feud had been building for some time, and the wild, violent and reckless young men involved in both sides of the divide were becoming increasingly trigger happy. Yesterday in Liverpool Crown Court, 23-year-old Lewis was jailed for a total of 24 years over an array of extremely serious crimes, including the shooting of a man in Birkenhead back on November 26, 2019. Ashley Dale's killers have been jailed for a combined total of 173 years. The 28-year-old council worker was shot dead in her own home on Leinster Road in Old Swan in the early hours of August 21 last year. James Witham, Joseph Peers, Niall Barry and Sean Zeisz were unanimously convicted of her murder following a seven-week trial at Liverpool Crown Court. They were also found guilty of conspiracy to murder Ms Dale's boyfriend Lee Harrison and conspiracy to possess a prohibited weapon, namely a Skorpion submachine gun, and ammunition with intent to endanger life. A man has died after being stabbed, as two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Merseyside Police were called to Church Walk in Bootle at around 7.45am on Wednesday, November 22, following reports of a stabbing. The 44-year-old victim was taken to hospital in a critical condition, but has now died. A postmortem will take place to establish the cause of death. Jack Wymer known as 'ItchyTrain' was the latest in a long list of criminals put behind bars for their role in using encrypted mobile phones to transport and sell thousands of pounds of drugs. Around 60,000 users of EncroChat have been identified worldwide, with about 10,000 of them in the UK – all involved in coordinating and planning the supply and distribution of drugs and weapons, money laundering and other criminal activity. A four-man fist fight broke out in the middle of an Aintree gym. Police were called to Everlast Gym on Ormskirk Road, next to Sports Direct, at around 10.25am today, February 28, after receiving reports of the mass brawl, which left one man with a head injury. Video footage shared with The ECHO showed two pairs of men scuffling among the weights and cycling machines at the gym, throwing multiple punches. One combatant appeared to flee across the gym, with another giving chase before returning the the two still-fighting men and punching one of them at least three times. A gang who used drones to smuggle items into prison have been jailed for a combined total of more than 30 years. Two inmates from Liverpool, at HMP Risley in Warrington, would collect the drones containing drugs, mobile phones and SIM cards and then sell them in prison. Five other gang members, who were responsible for setting up the drone flights between August and December 2020, were also jailed. Drones dropping off items to Charlie Swann, 26, and Aaron Dodd, 31, were spotted by prison officers within the grounds over a number of weeks. At around 10.26pm on Monday 28 September 2020, a drone flight was reported over the prison. The following day prison officers conducted a cell search, where a package was located containing heroin, cannabis, two iPhones and nine SIM cards. A dad said his life flashed before his eyes after claiming a taxi driver drove for three miles while he was on the bonnet. Johnny Connor from Wallasey “thought he was going to die” as he said he desperately held onto the car as it sped through the streets of Wirral on September 11. The dad had gotten into an altercation with a driver, who Johnny claims stole his phone. Johnny said he was "holding on for dear life" as the car reached speeds of 'sixty miles an hour'.
