We spoke to GPU Audio at NAMM where it was the biggest video of the show. You folks have a great interest in what they are developing which harnesses the power of your GPU, typically under-utilised high speed processing, and use it for processing audio. Yep they are a sponsor of our show coverage, but they are also really pushing the boundaries of what can be done with the GPU in your computer. We caught up Jonathan to talk beta plug-in release, AMD GPU support, Apple silicon support, and got a concept preview of a new GPU powered synthesizer they are working on. Its called Major and has a lot features - or will have - its currently being developed. Free FIR Convolution reverb & more coming soon from GPU AUDIO. Currently Windows, NVIDIA, and VST3 only. Mac, AU, and AMD support coming. #FreePlugins #FreePluginAlert What makes this plugin (and the future plugins) special is that they are coded to use the GPU to process audio. This unleashes the DSP you already have in you computer that is underutilized in current day DAWs and plugins. Why buy an expensive DSP interface and expensive DSP plugins, when every computer already has loads of processing power that is not being used - your GPU (video card). By using the GPU you are able to achieve extremely low latency even at high track counts. Imagine being able to use all of your plugins LIVE or while recording and not worrying about buffer errors and latency. Imagine being able to livestream with your favorite plugins and monitor the signal in real time! This is a revolutionary advancement for audio production! And while these products are still in early beta, the future is looking bright for musicians and producers. Even if you can't use the current reverb plugin, you should still sign up to get updates when other platforms are supported and when the GPU AUDIO DAW is released. ▶️Check it out here: 🤍 ▶️MORE FREE PLUGINS 🤍 ▶Our Links Website 🤍 EPIC Plugin Deals 🤍 Buy your studio gear: 🤍 SUBSCRIBE ::: LIKE ::: COMMENT

Hello, my YouTube friends! Have you heard about GPU Audio? They started being quite popular recently, so I decided to tweak their FIR Convolver and dig deeper into their promise of processing audio through your grapihic card. Let's find out! 0:00 Intro 1:21 Session overview 2:33 UAD Capitol Chambers performance (UAD DSP) 4:21 REVerence performance (Native) 7:32 FIR Convolcer performance (GPU Audio) 9: 24 Testing on two other machines 9:37 Comparing the results 15:35 Summing tha thingz up!
In this video, I take a look at an early version of an interesting development - GPU Audio, which promises the ability to harness the huge processing potential of a GPU for audio processing from within any application that uses VST plugins. It's very early days for this software, but it has some promising signs. I look at the plugin which is currently availble - an impulse response reverb - and compare it to a native plugin with the same IR, on my DAW. Testing done with version 0.9.7.0 - This will be updated regularly, according to GPU Audio. 🤍GPUAudio has released the first Apple Silicon early access AudioUnit and VST plugins. 20 instances of FIR Convolver uses 70% GPU on a Macbook Air M1 (8 GB Ram, 8 GPU cores, stereo 44.1 KHz Logic Pro). The GPU is only getting slightly warm with virtually no CPU usage. CPU usage looks higher than it is, as the cores run only at ~1,3 GHz. Maximum is 3.1 GHz. Also the GPU is not running at full speed when rendering 20 instances (0.9 instead of 1.2 GHz). FIR Convolver works nice, but is obviously early access. The GUI dials are a pain to use and the audio buffer is not cleared when logic restarts playback. Other plugins are silent after hitting stop and play. I got it to work in a 44.1 KHz project with a buffer size of 512. in a 96 KHz project there was a lot of crackle, but I don't know if it is supposed to work or not. Didn't invest much time in testing though, but looking forward to what comes next :) Love the idea to utilize the GPU for audio rendering. To be fair, 20 instaces of Logic's built in SpaceDesigner or 🤍ValhallaDSP Room also does not make the M1 sweat. But of course there is a clear amount of CPU usage involved. Keep up the good work! This really pushes audio processing to the next level. Thank you! #gpuaudio #applesilicon #logicprox

It's very simple to use your video card/gpu as a sound card. The benefit to doing this instead of using a dedicated sound card or motherboard sound card is you can use uncompressed digital 5.1(or 7.1) sound with a home theater receiver and home theater speakers...which are way better than using speakers made for computers such as klipsch promedia speakers, logitech z speakers, edifier speakers, etc. In this video I show how I use my rtx 3090 as my video card and my sound card. We have over $6,000 in prizes awarded for the most creative and innovative use of Impulse Responses. Making your own IR may sound complex, but it’s actually really easy! Full details here 🤍 Impulse Responses can be taken from software and hardware processing chains in the comfort of your DAW using free software, as well as real world spaces. Using dedicated software (see below) an IR can be created by computing the original sine wave sweep against the recording made while playing it back. The outputted wave file can then be saved and used as an impulse response in all kinds of Convolution programs including the GPU Audio FIR Convolver. It could be a single effect or an entire processing chain made up of pitch shifting, distortion, delay, modulation or any combination of effects. The competition is supported by AMD, NVIDIA, Sonible, Scan.co.uk, BedroomProducerBlog, MusicByLukas and PresentDayProduction - with one Grand Prize winner, two Second Place winners and three runners up sharing the $6,000+ prize pool. Download the latest Impulse Response Packs HERE for FREE: 🤍 Discord: 🤍 Description: For the GPU AUDIO community: Since the Early Access Plugin requires manual changing on the Impulse Response folder, we wanted to share a quick video, with NO TALKING, to let you hear what these IR's sound like. Volume 01 is a collection of 10 of our favorite IRs from a recent free release by the Sonic Palimpsest, and give a binaural impression of the Chatham Dockyards in Kent, UK. These IR's are mostly binaural, which means you'll need to wear headphones to get the 3-D effect of the reverb signal. The stereo samples are played, and the reverb itself simulates a binaurally rendered space (cool!). If you are on an Apple device with airpods, make sure to turn *OFF* their spatial audio setting, or it will filter out the natural binaural wraparound of these stereo recordings :) For this demo, we used our Roland SP-404MKII and messed around with some stock sample patches. One of the things we love about convolution reverb is how different filtered frequencies react to the space. Please like, comment and sub so we can start going live with ya'll soon :)
