Subscribe to American Eye 🤍 Creepy Wikipedia Pages You Should NOT Visit Everyone loves hearing scary stories, but there are some you shouldn’t look up if you want to sleep at night. 12 - Carl Tanzler Carl Tanzler was a radiology technician in the 1930s when he fell in love with one of his patients: the beautiful Elena Milagro de Hoyos. Unfortunately for Tanzler, his love was doomed. Hoyos had contracted tuberculosis and didn’t live to see the other side of her illness. That didn’t stop Tanzler’s feelings, however. They only grew as he continued to obsess over her. In 1933, 2 years after she had been buried, Tanzler stole Hoyos from her tomb and kept her in his house for 7 years. Among many other unsavory deeds you can probably guess at, Tanzler took every effort to preserve Hoyos’s beauty, including using wax, plaster, and glass eyes. After his crime was discovered and Hoyos’s body was returned to the cemetery, Tanzler remained just ss obsessed with her as he’d ever been. The tall, besuited figure with spidery tentacles had a terrifying and unstoppable penchant of taking children like a monstrous Pied Piper. Slender Man quickly became an internet urban legend as more and more people added to his mythos. His influence took a turn for the worse as he became a real-life horror story. In 2014, 2 twelve-year-old girls tried sacrificing their friend in Slender Man’s honor, believing that they would become proxies to the eldritch monster if they succeeded. If they failed, they and their families would be forfeit to him. It was only luck that their victim survived. 10 - Salish Sea Human Foot Discoveries Shoes have been known to wash ashore now and then, but strange things are afoot along the Salish Sea in British Columbia and Washington. They’re not always empty. 21 sneakers with unattached human feet inside have appeared since 2007, with many identified as belonging to missing people. Many of these feet’s owners are thought to have been victims of accidents, natural disasters, or depression. In some cases, with nothing else of them found, there are only theories as to what could have happened. 9 - Spontaneous Human Combustion Fire needs 3 things to survive: fuel, oxygen, and heat, which usually means a lot of wood or gasoline is involved. However, in certain cases, humans have been found to suddenly catch fire from the inside out, where none of these fire elements are available. While some cases could have been caused by external fire sources, such as embers or ash catching on clothing, many can’t be explained away so simply. These victims of spontaneous combustion go to sleep one night only to wake up unable to move as they burn if they wake up at all. Strangely, in many cases, their legs are the only survivors. In these cases, the rooms around them are often untouched by the flames as well, with perhaps only the chair they’re sitting in catching.

You won't believe the top wikipedia topics, some are scary, some are mysterious, some are strange, but they are all CREEPY ! Subscribe to American Eye 🤍 5. The Flatwoods Monster A seeming close encounter with some type of extraterrestrial being took place in West Virginia in 1952 by two young men and wikipedia gives a good a description of what allegedly happened, which turns out to be pretty creepy. Imagine encountering some type of horrific monster that crashed from a UFO, then being sick for with a mysterious illness not long after. If the whole thing was just a hoax, it would seem a little bit strange that they both got sick. Some believe it could have been some type of virus from out of space while others believe it was from some type of fuel used to power the spacecraft that crashed. The whole event was well documented by newspapers. The boys both describe the monster as being about 7-10 feet tall with shrilling red eyes and long skinny arms and fingers. Almost seems too real strange to not be real. 4. Inventors and Their Inventions There’s another list on Wikipedia which provides you with names of inventors who were killed by their inventions. Inventing is a tough job and someone’s gotta do it! Turns out that inventing ain’t all that easy. In ironic turns of events people make the wrong decisions with the devices they’ve created. Sometimes it goes well and sometimes it doesn’t. Lets ask this austrian guy how it went for him! Franz Reichelt was an inventor who was into trying to design parachutes and wing suits. One day, he decided to test out one of his inventions by jumping off the eiffel tower and since he’s on this list, you can take a pretty good guess that it didn’t go too well for him. Even as recently as the guy who invented the segway had an ironic twist of fate when he segwayed off a cliff. 3. Rat King If you really don’t like rats, you probably don’t want to go on this wikipedia page. Scientists have warned the UK that will notice an increase in giant rat infestations in the upcoming years! Imagine walking to kitchen and seeing a cat sized rat on your counter top, scurrying through the bag of fritos you shouldn’t have left open! Not only are they freaking huge, some are becoming rat poison resistant, meaning they’ve evolved to the point where they’re nearly indestructible. But that’s not the type Rat Kings were talking about. The real rat kings are a big ball of rodent who are entangled at the tail. This isn’t the normal stuff you’d probably find in most encyclopedias. They’ve even thought to be cryptids but in places where there are large population of rats, this is very much a reality. The rat king basically either has to live the rest of it’s life as a rat king, or gnaw off its tail, which would you choose, let us know in the comment section. 2. Near Nuclear Devastation North Carolina It’s pretty creepy to realize how close the US was to having a massive nuclear detonation in a fairly populous area. A serious plane crash took place in 1961 with a B-52 stratofortress bomber carrying 2 thermonuclear weapons. When the plane malfunctioned, the pilots ejected from the cockpit but this also resulted in them dropping their nuclear payout in eastern North Carolina, 1961. Two nuclear bombs struck the ground but miraculously didn’t detonate. This disaster would have been powerful to completely wipe off the city of Greensboro and nearby towns if luck wasn’t slightly on our side. One bomb with 250 times the power of the one dropped on Hiroshima plunged into a muddy field travelling 700 miles an hour and recovered 20 feet below the ground. Lieutenant Jack Revelle, a person responsible for disarming the bomb stated there would have been a 100 percent kill zone within an 8.5 mile radius. Parker f Jones stated that one simple, dynamo technology such as a low voltage switch prevented the major catastrophe. 1. Spontaneous Human Combustion Another intersting page wikipedia hosts is about spontaneous human combustion. Imagine just sitting on your couch one day watching an american eye video, then out of nowhere, you’re completely engulfed in flames! It’s been quite the mystery but wikipedia does a decent job of putting together some information on it. People started documenting records and hypotheses in 1746. Some ideas suggest that some type of fire is ignited by bodily gas somehow possibly after too much taco bell. But seriously, there have been quite a few reports of this happening which caused great damage and were too serious to just be caused by a candle or cigarette. Some claim that the fat under our skin can act as a candle in some cases, keeping the flame alive. Whatever the case maybe it’s a pretty freaky wiki page!

For example, you can research the truly creepy case of black eyed children, who want to invade your space with their creepy all-black eyes and monotone voices. The stories are creepy enough to the point where you will pull the curtains on all of your windows, lock your doors, and ignore any doorbell rings and knocks. The very fact that black eyed children go against the image of innocent children, which are usually harmless. But Wikipedia pages can also bring on a dose of grim reality, such as the case of Joyce Vincent, who was found dead in her apartment three years after she passed on. While the gesture is nice, for those of us today looking back, the practice itself is pretty creepy, especially today where the handling of dead bodies is reserved for the professional caretakers and medical staff. There is one thing about Wikipedia that needs to be taken into consideration is the fact that anyone can edit a Wikipedia article.
