The SKR mini E3 board has been updated to V1.2, mostly for the better. I’ve been running the V1.0 in my Ender 3 for some time, and consider it the best bang for your buck upgrade you can do for a stock Ender 3. It is cheaper than the silent Creality boards, yet much more capable. In this video, I go over the changes to the V1.2 and then test a range of features. The Bigtreetech SKR mini E3 is a plug and play 32 bit mainboard for the Creality Ender 3, Ender 5 and CR-10. It is very popular because it is affordable and capable. In this third iteration, many of the bugs have been ironed out and a strong focus on reliability has been added. In this video I explain the changes in the new version, cover installation, compiling firmware, BLtouch, EEPROM, filament runout, Neopixels, TFT35 touch screen, BTT wifi and sensorless homing. Thanks to the great work by the Marlin devs and Bigtreetech, most of these are quite easy to set up. This board should be more reliable and offers slightly more refinement due to the automatic control of the electronics fan. I’ve never had any overheating with my previous SKR mini boards, but if you have, this updated version may be the answer. This is far superior to the Creality silent board because it is cheaper, has newer TMC2209s connected in UART (linear advance friendly), is 32 bit and has much more IO options. Tip from viewer Dale for helping this board connect easily to Octoprint when using a BTT TFT as well. 3DTouch 🤍 SKR mini E3 v1.2 🤍 Marlin 2.0.5.1 firmware 🤍 Very cheap 3DTouch has the same installation and firmware modification methods as BLTouch. however, be careful when installing without manual leveling(such as 4 points hand leveling) causes nozzle will hit the bed occur.
I’ve made videos on Ender 3 mainboard upgrades, but this one has been highly requested. The SKR Mini E3 from Bigtreetech is a drop in replacement board that also comes with pre-made firmware. For the price, I consider this incredible value. Mine had one hitch but my free firmware files below will prevent that happening to you. This upgrade is so great because: It negates the need to spend time, effort and money on a bootloader. It updates your printer to the newest Marlin with all safety features enabled. It has a more powerful 32bit processor It is more exapandle: No pin27 board needed for BLtouch and support for touch screens, UPS and PSU relays. Integrated TMC2209s mean no more zebra stripes and no need to spend money on TL smoothers TMC2209s mean much quieter, no need to spend money on stepper dampers Plug and plug plus affordable One thing I should add is that you can switch between stealthchop and spreadcycle by simply switching a jumper. These boards were sent to me free of charge for the purpose of making this video. I also ordered the same set of three boards with my own money, but these ones came first. The problem is temporarily solved. Somebody in france gave me solution for reduction motor noise. I think when it didn't use hybrid threshold, the TMC2209 driver works only on stealthchop mode not spreadcycle mode. (not exactly)

This a skr mini e3 v1.2 motherboard that has a TMC Connection Error. I have flashed the most recent BTT's firmware from GitHub but it did not fix the error. I also compiled and flashed the latest firmware version of Marlin but this will not fix the error either.
My new board for the ender 3 from big tree tech will not upload the firmware to use my enderextender kit. This video is to prove to them it's not uploading and I want to exchange it for a new board.
